Living in a culture that promotes perfection and positivity can make it hard to admit when we are struggling. Sometimes it seems like those around us have life figured out while we remain lost on the outskirts. It is important to remember that it is human to experience sadness, fear, overwhelm, confusion, and loss. It is also important to remember that we do not have to experience these challenging times alone. Karli is a Licensed Professional Counselor providing individual and group counseling services to adolescents and adults in the state of Michigan. She has experience working with clients affected by a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, adjustment issues, sexual and emotional abuse, and addiction.

Karli takes a person-centered and integrative approach to counseling, drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic treatment strategies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal Process Therapy. She also has a unique interest in Writing and Narrative Therapy techniques. Karli holds a master’s degree in English Literature and Creative Writing in addition to her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Michigan University. She sees value in incorporating reflective writing into her therapeutic approach if the client is interested in expressive arts. She strives to empower clients to become the authors of their own stories and to live their next chapters with intentionality, courage, and authenticity.

Karli is honored to hold intentional and inclusive space for her clients as they do brave and difficult work in therapy. She believes - as one of her favorite poets, Sarah Kay, writes - healing is possible “no matter the wreckage.”
